It's catching on!

As I posted several days ago... Americans LOVE adopting them some Chinese children...  Well the fad had caught on Big Time... and our very own Randy Horton purchased this little cutie yesterday at the Official Olympic Super Store.  So I guess congratulations are in Order (Mom!  Your A GRANDMA!)...  She doesn't understand what we say, so we just leave her in the room while we're out and about all day...

P.S. Taking pictures of foreign children is so American and completely WRONG.  (Plus it's weird.) But this little gal was all about posing for a picture, she wouldn't stop until I snapped one of her.  My guess is we're not the first Americans she's come across in the last 14 days!

What would you have done???..

So... in a country with 1.3 BILLION people... lines are somewhat of an abstract concept.  If you think these 1.3 Billion people are spread out evenly and everyone has room... your wrong!  This place is jam packed with people...  It's push and shove in pretty much every public place.  On the Olympic Green there are countless sponsor buildings (Coke, VW, China Mobile, McDonalds, ect..)  Well, every place has something to wow and astonish visitors...  The only thing is the "lines" and I use that word in a rough sense, are EXTENSIVE....  So... What's a White American Male to do but climb up a tower and start telling people what to do...  It really was like a dream up there!

Another day of fun and GAMES!

Randy at the Olympic Green this morning...

Inside the Bird's Nest looking out at the Water Cube...

One of the 5 modern pentathlon events...  We had to be quite so as not to spook the horses... Challenging!

Bird's Eye view in the Bird's Nest / National Stadium

Supporting the home team in Baseball this evening... They LOST... Big time to Cuba... 10 to 2!

More vacation pics for our lovely Mom and Grandma!  Ohhh... And... our emerging fan base...  We're very BIG in China!

Causing a scene...

As some of you know... it's always fun to cause a scene.  Especially when no one is around who understands what you're saying or... doing!  Yes it true... the Beijing Olympic Committee asked the HORTON boys to run in the "belated" torch relay...  So we obliged!  Sadly fire and... well running is forbidden on the Olympic Green... Sooo... in true Horton style we became... "Posers."

EAT YOUR HEART OUT!

Just a though...

Okay... soooo... You all know how upper middle class white Americans LOVE to adopt them some Chinese Babies???  Well, by chance... we sat in the lower section of the stadium last night with upper middle class white Americans... AND... get this 4 (yes FOUR) such families were attending the game with their adopted Chinese children (many had multiple children) in our area alone.  So, here's my question...  What do you think the 50,000 Chinese fans in the stadium think about this global phenomenon???

You'll need to sit down for this one....

So... there we were, coming out of the stadium last night and what did we happen upon?  HOOTERS Beijing....  WTF?  Now I can say... "I've seen it all."

Randy wants to know who works there???  Because (from his perception) most Chinese women lack... "Hooters qualities..."

Olympic Moments...

Last night it was watching Usain Bold set a new world record in the 200 meters from the lower level of the "Birds Nest" National Stadium.

Tonight it was Team USA Girl's Football (Soccer) winning the Gold Medal!!!  We caught the action from the 4th row!!!  Plus we got high-fives at the end medal ceremony...

Great Wall Tourist Pictures for MOM!

We spent a rainy morning at the Great Wall of CHINA!!!  We even found some mellow spots away from the crowds...  The Great Wall, much to our surprise, is a lot like the Grand Canyon... Overwhelmingly AWESOME!

27!!!

It's RANDY'S Birthday!!!!  We spent it in style...  watching Usain Bold of Jamaica brake the world record by winning the 200 meters in 19.30 seconds!!!  And by some strange coincidence they actually sang Happy Birthday in the stadium (for Usain... and RANDY!)... MEMORABLE

Confirmed...

Check this out ya-all...  Randy took one for the team and got in on the action to bring you this very  revealing pic...  The ass-less baby clothing really is for the insta' drop it any place dookie...  Just like a puppy...  Cute???  Not really!  This was at a beautiful hillside Buddhist Temple...  So wrong... but at least they picked it up with a plastic bag and put it in the Buddhist Temple trash can... RESPONSIBLE!

Humungo Buddha

We spent yesterday exploring the Longmen Caves outside Luoyang...  Massive Buddhas everywhere...

1st Class Toilet

Pop-a-squat China Train Style...  This can....  uhhh...  be a challenge on a moving train!

Xian's Ancient Muslim Quarter

Here we are checkin' out a Chinese Muslim Mosque complex in Xian.  Amazing architecture and an interesting history...

Terracotta Army!!!

We're on the move... We've flown to Xian to visit (one of the many) 8th Wonder of the World.  The Terracotta Army!  RAD...

Brand Recognition...

It came as a surprise to us...  But, Playboy is actually a store here in China.  An NO they don't have mags...  Just shoes, jeans, and shirts. Heff is making himself some $$$ on the Brand Recognition...

Something for Lorentson

Sooo Cute...

Randy can't seem to get enough of those little things...

And get this... I'm talking about the official Beijing Olympic mascots...  not the cheerleaders...

The Forbidden City...

Feast Your Eyes on this...  It IS amazing...  but the pollution is NASTY!  Walking around in thick car exhaust and coal power plant (those things are everywhere despite Chinas attempts to hide them behind shrubbery) emission and  100 degrees with 80% humidity is... how shall I say this... challenging!

Going HOME...

The Mother Ship is here...  I gotta GO!

Beijing Architecture = Hit or Miss!

What the Heck... Another sighting!

This one actually thought he WAS Brat Pitt.  Maybe things work in the reverse...  You know how... well "some of us" think other ethnic groups "all look alike"...  Not ME.... I'm just saying "some of us"...

Anyway, this Olympic volunteer wouldn't let us leave the venue until Randy... I mean "Brad" had taken a picture with her.  Brad even offered to pick her up, but she was having none of that... Why???  Think of the bragging rights she would have had!

Shocking...

Get this...  Some Chinese people actually let their babies run around with these ass-less bib-things...  "Risky"--I say...  Randy claims to have seen one mom wiping poop off her leg from her baby.  Messy!  Needless to say the tourists (from around the world) love running after them snapping themselves some baby butt pics.  Again, "Risky"--I say.  Not good to have those kind of pics on your computer... No Sir...

We Found Another One...

Here we go again... Another pregnant man has been discovered!  Oregon will soon loose it's claim to fame...  We spotted this South African Belly at the Rowing Races...  Truly a disturbing trend... (Thank goodness for Randy's stealth camera skills...)

Fight Night - Olympic Style

We saw several boxing matches on Saturday night.  Fun, but not bloody enough for the big group of Australians who sat in front of us...  We were just happy to be in an air conditioned building...  It was like heaven in there!

HOTNESS Unleashed...

Uhhh yah...  Beijing (besides being massively polluted) is hotter than... well... OREGON!

A Full day of Sports...

We were LIVE when the first Chinese gold Medal was awarded.  Woman's Weightlifting... Sexy!

August 8 - Let the Games Begin...

WOW!  That's all I can say...

Aug 7 - The First Game

After arriving we headed out to the Soccer Stadium here in Tianjin for our first official Olympic Game!  It was HOT...  It was MOIST...  It was "almost" UNBEARABLE...  And it was also TOTALLY RADNESS!
